Benthic Monitoring Services

At People and Nature Consulting International, our benthic monitoring services employ the most up-to-date methods and cutting-edge technologies to provide accurate, reliable data for conservation and management decisions. Our techniques range from simple yet effective tools to advanced solutions, ensuring we meet the specific needs of each project while maintaining the highest scientific standards.

Our Benthic Monitoring Services Include:

  • PhotQuadrats, Photogrammetry & Artificial Intelligence (AI): We utilize photquadrats in combination with photogrammetry and AI-driven analysis for highly detailed and precise assessments of benthic habitats. Photogrammetry enables us to create 3D models of coral reefs, offering a comprehensive view of the structural complexity and health of the reef, while AI accelerates data analysis, ensuring efficient and robust monitoring over time.

  • Advanced Monitoring with Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs): For larger or more remote areas, we deploy diver propulsion vehicles (DPVs) to maximize coverage while maintaining data accuracy. This method allows us to efficiently survey vast benthic habitats, improving data collection over broader spatial scales without compromising diver safety or endurance.

  • Deep Reef Surveys using Closed-Circuit Rebreathers (CCRs): Our team specializes in exploring and monitoring mesophotic depths—critical but often overlooked zones—using closed-circuit rebreathers (CCRs). This advanced technology enables extended bottom times, allowing for thorough data collection in deeper environments that are typically challenging to study.

Whether we are monitoring shallow reefs or mesophotic ecosystems, our benthic monitoring programs deliver precise, actionable data. By combining traditional techniques with innovative technologies like photogrammetry and AI, we provide comprehensive insights that contribute to informed, evidence-based conservation strategies.

Coral Reef Restoration Services

At People and Nature Consulting International, we offer comprehensive coral reef restoration services, designed to ensure the long-term success of restoration projects from initial planning through to post-project sustainability. Our approach integrates cutting-edge scientific research with proven restoration techniques to deliver feasible, scalable solutions.

Our Coral Reef Restoration Services Include:

  • Project Design & Planning: We collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop restoration strategies that are tailored to specific ecological, social, and economic contexts. Using best practice guidelines, we ensure that every project is scientifically sound and aligned with global conservation standards.

  • Feasibility Assessments: Before implementation, we conduct thorough feasibility studies to assess environmental, logistical, and financial factors, ensuring the project’s viability and scalability over time.

  • Implementation: Our team provides hands-on support throughout the implementation phase, from coral nursery development and transplantation to habitat monitoring and biodiversity assessments, ensuring each phase adheres to best practices and achieves measurable outcomes.

  • Post-Project Monitoring & Management: We recognize that the success of a restoration project extends beyond its initial completion. We provide ongoing monitoring and adaptive management plans to track project performance, enhance ecosystem resilience, and ensure the longevity of restoration efforts.

Our commitment to using internationally recognized best practice guidelines guarantees that your coral reef restoration project will be scientifically robust, community-inclusive, and capable of withstanding future environmental changes.
